The Garland showcases 14 all-new pieces, and it includes just about every flavor that has made each of John's previous deliveries so special. Daya once again lends her enchanting vocals to two tracks, while guest musicians provide some gorgeous performances on flute, oboe and recorder.
The Garland demonstrates, perhaps more than ever, that John has a unique ability to combine a wide variety of musical styles –from classical and bluegrass, to calypso and New Age, while somehow making the whole album flow seamlessly. If there is one thing that sets this album apart from the rest of John's previous repertoire, it is that John's skills as a guitarist are featured more than ever.
