Three years after the success of his album Bach and an exploration of the soundtracks of Nino Rota, accordionist Richard Galliano turns to Baroque music with this 2013 album dedicated to Antonio Vivaldi, showcasing a rearrangement of The Four Seasons for accordion and string quintet. It was not without some apprehension that Galliano embarked on the adventure of The Four Seasons, one of the best known, most performed works in the history of classical music. He proceeded after it seemed obvious to him to combine one of the most popular works with one of the most popular instruments. Four Vivaldi arias, also arranged for accordion by Galliano, complete this album.
