Megaforce is excited to release Grandpa Metal, by comedian and heavy metal fan Brian Posehn. Grandpa Metal is packed with cameos from legends in the metal world including Scott Ian (Anthrax) Joe Trohman (Fall Out Boy) Brendon Small (Dethklok) Corey Taylor (Slipknot) Michael Starr (Steel Panther) Johan Hegg (Amon Amarth) Gary Holt (Slayer) Kim Thayil (Soundgarden) Patrick Stump (Fall Out Boy), Chuck Billy (Testament) Steve “Zetro” Souza (Exodus) Jill Janus (Huntress) Rob Cavestany (Death Angel), and more. “The original concept for this album came from bands like Scatterbrain and S.O.D., and even Cheech and Chong. They all made music that was fun and funny, heavy music that also made you laugh. I wanted this to be the ultimate comedy/metal record, a loving record that made fun of some of the things in heavy metal, so I called all my friends and asked for a bunch of favors. There’s a Satan song, and there’s a Viking song, there’s one song that sounds like Black Metal, and then there’s one that sounds like a Van Halen party song. The intention was just to make a funny metal/comedy record for people who like both of those things.” - Brian Posehn

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
