ein deutsches album is Peter’s German language version of his third self-titled album. It was released shortly after the English language version, in June 1980.
Peter worked carefully with Horst Königstein to make sure the German language lyrics were more than simple translations from the originals. The language not only conveys the meaning and intended imagery of each song but also allows the words to contribute to the musicality of the record.
There are some significant musical differences between this release and the English original too with Peter experimenting further in the role of sole producer, working with engineer Colin Green.
