The Münchner Philharmoniker appears under the direction of Sergiu Celibidache in this stunning legacy recording of selections from Prokofiev's Scythian Suite and Romeo and Juliet.
Throughout his lifetime Sergiu Celibidache was convinced that music could not be conserved on tape. He nevertheless did record a few concerts – especially compositions by Anton Bruckner – with the Munich Philharmonics. To this day, these recordings are regarded as legendary: not surprising, given that Celibidache is considered to be the greatest Bruckner specialist of his time.
