This album was recorded live in the Ambassador Auditorium in Pasadena in September 2008 to mark the 40th anniversary of the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra. Music director and pianist Jeffrey Kahane conducts on the world premiere of Pierre Jalbert's Chamber Symphony while the orchestra's founding conductor Sir Neville Marriner leads Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 1, on which Kahane plays piano.
