This album combines recordings from 1961 and 1962 by American classical piano sensation Byron Janis, who presents two versions of Pictures at an Exhibition: one version for piano and another version for piano and orchestra arranged by Maurice Ravel. Antal Doráti leads the Minneapolis Symphony Orchestra on this album of what were premieres at the time of release.
