"... now an audiophile collector’s item ..."
- ClassicsToday.com
"These are very musical performances. Nothing feels forced yet one is conscious of a care for these unfashionable pieces."
- MusicWeb International
"... (a) classic recording ... Doráti in fine fettle and the New Philharmonia Orchestra really on the ball ... (Doráti) brings great energy and zest to the works ... the recordings are as clean and memorable as one could expect. This release is recommended for those who would like a lighter side to their Tchaikovsky collection."
- Classical.Net
When this album was originally released in 1966, it marked the first time all four of Tchaikovsky suites for orchestra were collected on one package. Antal Doráti directs the New Philharmonia Orchestra on a very generous recording, running over two hours, boasting spectacular sound considering the age of the performances. In a review of Doráti's works, ClassicsToday.com said this album is "now an audiophile collector’s item."
