"... the unbeatable rhythm section of Danilo Pérez, John Patitucci and Brian Blade needs no introduction. And yet, for all of the incredible rapport, (they) have not released an album as a trio. Here’s the trio in action." - Ottawa Citizen Pianist Danilo Pérez, bassist John Patitucci and drummer Brian Blade have been three quarters of the Wayne Shorter Quartet for more than a decade, at the same time continuing their individual careers as leaders of their own projects and groups. Now, on Children of the Light, they step forward as a trio for the first time with an imagination and fearlessness in their approach that defies the roles and ways of a trio in both obvious and subtle ways. Each member contributes original songs, rounded out with a version of Shorter's composition Dolores. "We can ‘comprovise’ (spontaneous composition) with dense harmonic and melodic forms, but we can also explore the beauty of a simple harmony. And you can see the care each one of us put into the songs we brought in." - Danilo Pérez

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
