"Rebecca Maurer delivers fine performances. D'Anglebert's transcriptions come off very well, with good attention to their dramatic origin. Louis Couperin's Passacaille is one of the highlights."
- MusicWeb International
Harpsichordist Rebecca Maurer weaves pieces from the most brilliant era of the harpsichord to form a musical tapestry full of allusions and cross references. The works presented on this ICMA nominated album date back to the time of the Sun King, Louis XIV. She performs this repertoire on a historical Ruckers harpsichord, strengthening the magic even more: the result is poetic music in a magnificent garment, played with perfect timing and an extraordinary sense of tonal colour and sweeping lines.
