At the beginning of the 1720s, Jan Dismas Zelenka introduced himself as a mature composer thoroughly cultivating his own individual music language being rich in a creative spirit and energy. Around 1724, Zelenka composed several individual compositions of the Mass ordinary which connects a unified music expression and uses the instrumentation unusual for Zelenka, involving trombone sounds. Imaginary Mass consisting of these compositions presents an unknown part of Zelenka´s music on the treshold of his creative matureness.
