"There’s something wonderfully unforced about both his playing and his vocals...in the weight of experience that he brings to his songs. It’s rare these days to find an audience so wrapped up in a performance as this one.” - The Independent At a time when we are all missing the communion of live music, John Smith has released Live In Chester, a Live Album commemorating the world tour of his Hummingbird Album. John released Hummingbird on his own imprint, Commoner Records, in March 2019. The traditional songs on the album originate as far back as the 15th Century, and yet the record is surprisingly current, revealing the affirming consistency of the human condition. In the course of 10 songs, John explores timeless themes of longing, love, loss, horror, tragedy, grief, resilience, desire, devotion, heroism, romance, dignity, and ultimate triumph.

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
