The great Chilean pianist Claudio Arrau - widely considered one of the greatest pianists of the twentieth century - performs Brahms' Piano Concerto No. 1 live in Lausanne in 1978, with the backing of the Orchestre National de France under the direction of Polish conductor Witold Rowicki. The Piano Concerto No. 1 in D minor, Op. 15 was completed by Johannes Brahms in 1858. The composer gave the work's public debut in Hanover, the following year. It was his first-performed orchestral work, and (in its third performance) his first orchestral work performed to audience approval. Rowicki held principal conducting positions with the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra and the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra, and performs here as a special guest with the Orchestre National de France.

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
