With Art of the Sonata, violinist Petteri Iivonen teams up with pianist Kevin Fitz-Gerald to present a diverse and engaging recital programme featuring Sonatas by Bach, César Franck, and Brahms, alongside a beautiful arrangement of David Lefkowitz's "Unbearable Longing" for solo violin. "I remember the first time I heard the name 'Petteri Iivonen'. It was late in the evening, and my phone rang at home. 'Hello Bob,' a dark voice greeted me, before I could say hello myself. 'My name is Hagai Shaham. You do not know me, but I know a young violinist you must hear right away. He comes from Finland. His name is Petteri Iivonen.' This is the sort of call, at least from musicians like Hagai, that makes producers grin from ear to ear. 'You're the Hagai Shaham? The concert violinist? Of course I know who you are. I would be delighted.'" - Bob Attiyeh (Producer)

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
