Digital Booklet
|
"Four theremin sonatas well-played ... in these sonatas we get a pretty full sample of what the instrument can do ... there is no denying the talent involved ... getting true control of the instrument, as Ms. Eyck has, is no small task ... the musicianship is of very high quality. The recording is quite good. The instrument is captured accurately and the stereo image is solid ... I appreciated the effort and compositions ... others will find it fascinating."
- Audiophile Audition
Internationally acclaimed theremin player Carolina Eyck and pianist Christopher Tarnow are one of the world's few chamber music ensembles for theremin and piano, performing together since 2013. Tarnow composed these pieces for Eyck, including the world's first sonata for theremin and piano. His clear and differentiated piano playing complements the colourful, evocative, mysterious and haunting sounds of the theremin on this unusual and fascinating programme.
