Multiple award winning Strauss singer Soile Isokoski presents Three Hymns, coupled with opera arias from Ariadne auf Naxos, Der Rosenkavalier and Capriccio, backed by the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra under Okko Kamu. All these pieces are part of Isokoski's standard repertoire which she has performed regularly at opera houses around the world. Three Hymns is a major atmospheric work with Strauss's orchestration in full bloom, yet it is surprisingly rarely recorded, no doubt partly because of the great vocal demand it poses to the soloist.
This album was mastered using our 2xHD proprietary system. In order to achieve the most accurate reproduction of the original recording we tailor our process specifically for each project, using a selection from our pool of state-of-the-art audiophile components and connectors. The process begins with a transfer to analogue from the original DXD master, using cutting edge D/A converters. The analogue signal is then sent through a high end tube preamplifier before being recorded directly in DXD using the MSB Platinum Studio ADC plus. All connections used in the process are made of OCC silver cable.
DSD and 192 kHz / 24-bit versions are separately generated, directly from the analogue signal.
