Consisting of three of the most exciting and original musicians and composers in the UK, jazz trio Malija draws inspiration from the great city of London on this album. The connections between the three members pulse in the same dynamic and energetic way that the city’s blood vessels continually pump; the rhythm of the city serves as a subtle undercurrent in the interplay on the album. The Day I Had Everything magnifies what is beautiful about great jazz with subtleties and sophisticated group interaction offering countless rewards. The trio describes this music as “simple, weird, complicated, free, tight, beautiful, ugly and heartfelt, depending on your mood." Two of the tracks feature strings from the Ligeti Quartet.
