Flutist Soyoung Lee performs three of the most famous flute concertos of their era, among the best known of their composers’ repertoire. The late 18th and early 19th century works of François Devienne, Saverio Mercadante and Bernhard Romberg provide a fascinating counterpoint of their respective French, Neopolitan and German geographic and stylistic flowering of influences, presented here with lively grace and intelligence by Lee backed by the Ensemble of Tokyo.
