Digital Booklet
Guillaume de Chassy, Arnault Cuisinier and Thomas Savy have long made up a trio bridging jazz improvisation and classical music. On Bridges, their second album, they are joined by baritone Laurent Naouri, so impressive in numerous famous operatic roles; a passionate aficionado of jazz in general and of Broadway songs in particular. Naouri sings Hanns Eisler’s Hollywood Songbook, composed in 1943 on poems by his companion in exile in Los Angeles, Bertolt Brecht. The trio accompanies and improvises bridges between the songs. Completing the programme are bold improvisations based on de Chassy's transcriptions of Prokofiev's concertos and sonatas with added texts by Russian poets. "... we reversed the usual process, of adapting the music to the text. I don’t know if Prokofiev liked jazz, but it so happens that the harmonies colouring his themes are very inspiring vehicles for improvisation." - Guillaume de Chassy

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
