Digital Booklet
"Recording of the Year ... an imaginative selection that avoids the usual suspects, expertly played with just the right sense of playfulness and feeling ... it will make you smile and in these troubled times, that is a pretty good outcome." - MusicWeb International "It is a pleasure to discover (these works) especially given the unaffected warmth of Henning Kraggerud’s playing, ably supported by the Swedish orchestra ... Kraggerud is a major talent, with a rich, beautiful sound ... he deserves to be more widely known. Any violin fancier should enjoy this very much." - Fanfare This highly praised recital album from Henning Kraggerud reflects the rich vein of Nordic writing for the violin that emerged between 1910 and 1930. Kraggerud, an exemplary stylist, explores this memorable repertoire ranging from Halvorsen to Stenhammar to the late romanticism of Sinding. Sibelius’s Six Humoresques remain a masterpiece of the genre, while the earlier works of Ole Bull illustrate the brilliance and panache of the "Nordic Paganini."
192 kHz / 24-bit, 96 kHz / 24-bit PCM and 5.6448 MHz, 2.8224 MHz DSD – 2xHD - Naxos Studio Masters

2xHD Mastering: René Laflamme 2xHD Executive Producer: André Perry This album was mastered using our 2xHD proprietary system. In order to achieve the most accurate reproduction of the original recording we tailor our process specifically for each project, using a selection from our pool of state-of-the-art audiophile components and connectors. The process begins with a transfer to analog from the original 24bits/96kHz resolution master, using cutting edge D/A converters. The analog signal is then sent through a hi-end tube pre-amplifier before being recorded directly in DXD using the dCS905 A/D and the dCS Vivaldi Clock. All connections used in the process are made of OCC silver cable. DSD and 192kHz/24Bit versions are separately generated, directly from the analog signal.

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
