John Lee Hooker's estate releases "I Didn't Know", a live single that heralds the upcoming release of John Lee Hooker Live at Montreux 1983 & 1990 - a double-live set capturing one of the true blues originators in action at the famous annual festival, sharing his rhythm and blues boogie across two blistering performances. The new package brings the music of the blues frontiersman, four-time Grammy winner and Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award recipient to an even wider modern-day audience. In 1983, at the first Montreux concert, “Boogie Chillen’” became a 13-person jam featuring guitarist Luther Allison, harmonica great Sugar Blue and a horn section. At that show, Hooker also performed such gems as “It Serves Me Right To Suffer,” “Hi Heel Sneakers,” “Boom Boom” and “Crawlin’ King Snake.”

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
