"Four Stars ... the music has a lighter-than-air transparency to it, constantly changing and renewing itself ... realized with just the right mix of precision and fantasy by the Kreutzer Quartet."
- The Guardian
Dynamic and innovative string ensemble the Kreutzer Quartet has forged creative partnerships with several composers including Edward Cowie, who describes himself as "the musical equivalent of a plein air visual artist." The natural world is inspiration for much of his music and on this album his three string quartets focus on aspects of flight, mainly of birds and insects.
