A resident at the Villa Médicis in 2017-2018, Aurélien Dumont presents here an album of three pieces linked to his Roman stay: Flaques de miettes, Âpre bryone and Baïnes, all composed or revised during this period. Recorded by the ensemble 2e2m with the conductor Pierre Roullier and the soprano Hélène Fauchère on Âpre Bryone, the composer's soundscape is striking in its stylistic consistency. His music, thought out like a map made up of little landscapes, draws a musical discourse that echoes with philosophy and other art forms.
