The holiday season is all about giving thanks, giving gifts, and giving back. That’s just what Berlin-based booking company Von der Haardt and a few artists are doing with the release of their compilation album Haingeraide. To support those who have been on the frontlines of the pandemic, the artists of the German booking agency Von der Haardt came together to deliver an incredible compilation album with all proceeds being donated to Médecins Sans Frontières, an independent humanitarian non-profit organization that provides medical assistance to people affected by conflict, epidemics, disasters, or exclusion from healthcare. Haingeraide brings eighteen international artists, from all different genres and backgrounds, together for an incredible collaborative album that features unreleased and unheard music. From experimental electronica producer and conceptual artist Pantha Du Prince, to in-vogue Polish pianist Hania Rani, indie folk singer-songwriter José González, to award-winning performer Sebastian Mullaert, and many more. The title name “Haingeraide” derives from the Middle Ages, when German farmers established “Haingeraide” as a form of forest and land management cooperative. With unity and collaboration at its core, there couldn’t be a better title for a project like Haingeraide. “We hereby refer to the collective as an ideal form of community. We as a family, in solidarity in hard times and far away from the influence of the authorities, stand united,” states Haingeraide compilation’s artists.
