On his debut album, award-winning young violin virtuso Kerson Leong presents a range of 19th and 20th century lyrical and Romantic works, ranging from Richard Wagner to Béla Bartók. Accompanied at the piano by Phlip Chiu, Leong has chosen his pieces with care, including Jascha Heifetz's transcription of Nikolai Medtner’s rarely played Fairy Tale, originally written for piano.
"I wanted to balance flavours, to juxtapose lesser-known pieces with some that people would instantly recognize and could relate to ... every repertoire brings out a different side of me. I especially love chamber music, because when you get to do it with more and more people, like with Philip Chiu, there is a special communication going on.”
- Kerson Leong
