Digital Booklet
Boris Giltburg has set out to learn and film all 32 piano sonatas by Beethoven by the end of 2020. The project started as a personal exploration, driven by curiosity and his strong love of the Beethoven sonatas, and the recordings presented in this initial volume display Giltburg’s customary spirit, technical finesse and convey the electric atmosphere of the live recording. The multiple prizewinning pianist Boris Giltburg was born in 1984 in Moscow and has lived in Tel Aviv since early childhood. Notable débuts have included a 2002 South American tour (and every season since), with the Israel Philharmonic in 2005, a tour of China in 2007, and at the 2010 BBC Proms in London. First appearing on record in 2006, Mr. Giltburg recently began a long-term recording plan with Naxos as of 2014.

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
