On this recording, Swiss string quartet the Quatuor Sine Nomine presents the world premiere of contemporary composer William Blank's Einklang. In bringing his artistry to life, the ensemble achieves something remarkable: Blank's musical world hovers between passages overlapping and grinding against one another and massive blocks of sound, between precise chords and noise-like clusters. To end the programme, the strings meld with soprano Barbara Zanichelli’s ethereal voice as the music, lingering, gradually fades away to the words of Georg Trakl.
