Digital Booklet
To celebrate his arrival last season at the Orchester national d'Île-de-France as Musical Director and Principal Conductor, the American Case Scaglione has chosen to record an album paying tribute to a composer particularly dear to his heart: Richard Wagner. This recording allows you to appreciate one of the strong facets of the orchestra: the lyric, with some of the most beautiful pages written by Wagner. Before Richard Wagner, no composer had known how to merge voice and orchestra so much to carry human sentiment so high. In Tristan and Isolde, it is absolute love that unfolds with nobility: the two heroes love each other to death, and never will we have heard a page so sublimely tragic. The character of the Valkyrie is more heroic: proud, Brühnhilde opposes the established order to save Siegmund. But by disobeying Wotan, doesn't she finally make her father's dearest wish come true? The other hero is decidedly mystical: it is Parsifal. He presents himself as the savior of a community of knights whose strength is running out. Valiant and pure, Parsifal is there like a messiah embodying a better world, a new order.

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
