Norsk Utflukt was formed in 1991, and started as a collaborative project based on poems and texts by the author Lars Saabye Christensen (reading) and music by Kåre Virud (vocals, guitar). The name Norsk Utflukt ("Norwegian Excursion") is taken from one of Lars' poems, about a line dancer who, halfway through his journey far above the ground, discovers that the rope has reached its end. It represents a small moment of tension, an excursion where nothing is gained. Now, for the release of Heder og verdighet ("Honor & Dignity") almost 30 years after forming, Norsk Utflukt gathers again - not to be nostalgic or to gain status, but simply to take the pulse of the time. The songs are therefore often about time that passes, a classic theme in both the blues and the classical poetry. For Heder og verdighet, the group is complemented by Baard Slagsvold (bass, vocals, piano), Tore Wildhauer (drums, percussion) and Espen Fjelle (organ, piano).

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
