Conductor Jean-Jacques Kantorow, recognized as the world’s most knowledgeable Eugène Ysaÿe specialist, leads the Orchestre Philharmonique Royal de Liège on this diverse recording of Ysaÿe's works, featuring the title track Neiges d'antan. Over the years, Ysaÿe has become more famous for his compositions than his own violin virtuosity: his notability in the compositional world is largely due to the fact that he effectively created a genre with his poems for string instruments, distinguishing himself among his peers. Violinists Svetlin Roussev and Amaury Coeytaux are the two featured soloists here.
