Digital Booklet
On September 16-19, 2019, recordings of Vespers by Sławomir Czarnecki took place, which are now released by the DUX publishing house. The composition is in the form of an oratorio with a duration of about 55 minutes. Scheduled for mixed choir, tenor and solo bass, and 10 wind instruments. It is composed for liturgical breviary texts in the universal Latin language, in the post-conciliar arrangement. The composition has 16 parts, covering almost the entire text of the First Vespers liturgy for the Feast of the Exaltation of the Cross (September 14), including the Antiphons. Only the introductory part, the Preambulum, and the last part - Cantus Finalis, contain the old liturgical breviary texts of European and Miechów Bożogrobcy from the 14th century. In its sound layer, the composition refers to numerous European and Polish music traditions, starting from the Middle Ages, with reference to the form of hymns and sequences, through the multi-chorus and chord colour of the late Renaissance period, with concerto elements characteristic of the baroque era. This multithreading is transformed with elements of contemporary compositional technique, such as interval structuralism, dissonant sounds, minimalism or repetitiveness, creating a composition with postmodern aesthetics, a trend so characteristic of, for example, the works of W. Kilar or HM Górecki, eagerly accepted by listeners. The message of the composition refers to the 1050th anniversary of the Baptism of Poland, the coming of the Cross to our lands, and with it the inclusion of Poland in the circulation of Christian culture and European civilization.

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
