The beginning of Advent is celebrated with a particular solemnity by the Oxford Choir of Merton College. With this album, the choir explores the musical riches that adorn the most special time in the church’s calendar through a commissioned sequence of antiphons from seven leading composers. The mingled hopes, fears and expectations of the season are beautifully articulated by the fervent body of young singers.
