"... a special release ... uncommon distinction and consistency of its casting ... intelligently guided by Rhorer and bolstered by masterful orchestral playing and choral singing, this Die Entführung aus dem Serail takes flight on streams of Mozart singing of a calibre seldom heard since the storied days of Schwarzkopf, Streich, Wunderlich and Haefliger."
- Voix des Arts

Conductor Jérémie Rhorer has become regarded as one of the finest interpreters of Mozart in general and his operas in particular. This live album captures a memorable performance of Die Entfuhrung aus dem Serail, recorded with his orchestra le Cercle de l’Harmonie in Paris in September 2015. The programme conveys all the dramatic intensity of the opera, Mozart's completely unprecedented vision of the singspiel, which featured highly developed ensembles and musical continuity at a time when contemporary audiences were expecting the standard alternation between spoken and sung sections. That musical dramaturgy lies at the centre of this interpretation, served by an outstanding cast. The release marks the first in a live series from the orchestra showcasing the great masterpieces of Mozart and other composers.

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
