"Album of the Week ... The Coral Sea sounds like it ought to: limitless, enchanting and implacable ... if you only buy one saxophone record this year, make this the one ..."
- Sinfini Music

"Five Stars ... this album of British or near-British composers opens a window into what the Brits have been up to saxophone-wise for the last 25 years or so. The music is uniformly engaging and excellent all around, one of the most intelligent and flat-out winsome recitals of the instrument I have heard in years ... each (piece) is unique and each is devilishly attractive in terms of overall sonic disposition and engaging attributes ... the sound is terrific, the playing doubly so and the production values top of the line. This is great stuff ... you have to hear it; I don’t care what you may or may not think of the saxophone."
- Audiophile Audition

This debut album from award-winning saxophonist Sue McKenzie and pianist Ingrid Sawers, released in 2013, presents music inspired by diverse sources ranging from a photograph by Robert Mapplethorpe to the playing style of Busoni’s favourite clarinetist. The six recent British works performed here with stylistic authority and idiomatic flair by the Scottish duo are bookended by two world premieres: the title piece by Gabriel Jackson and Allegrasco by Gavin Bryars.

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
