Digital Booklet
“It is plain to hear why the composers were so inspired by [Bezaly's] artistry, and also why BIS is making a significant commitment of recording her: this is the most technically assured, breathtakingly brilliant flute-playing around.” - Fanfare “Bezaly's… technique is extraordinary. All three concertos, while each following very diverse expressive paths, are imbued with a fantastical and luminous quality that surely derives from the player.” - Gramophone “Wonderful stuff. BIS has been on a winner with Sharon Bezaly for some time now but this is surely the most splendid so far in the series... Bezaly plays the works she has inspired, whether on flute or alto flute, with immense authority and sensitivity and BIS’s recording set-up captures balances perfectly...” - MusicWeb International One of the best flutists of her generation, Sharon Bezaly here presents works written for her by three different composers hailing from three different Nordic countries. Finnish composer Kalevi Aho's Flute Concerto is a sparse and lyrical piece, while Icelandic composer Haukur Tómasson's Flute Concerto No. 2 is an experiment in texture and colour through the medium of amplified flute and orchestra, and Swedish composer and trombonist Christian Lindberg's “The World of Montuagretta” is a cinematic work inspired by a Brazilian film about travesti, all performed with immense virtuosity and musicality by Bezaly.

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
