With this album, 16-year-old Lucie Horsch becomes the first recorder player ever signed to Decca Classics. She presents four of Vivaldi’s best known concertos, including La notte and La tempesta di mare, as well as two arias which showcase the expressive range of the recorder. Praised for her extraordinary technique and mature sensibility, the Dutch musician challenges any notion that the recorder is simply a beginner's instrument. As a musical ambassador, Horsch is passionate to demonstrate how much can be achieved on this beautiful instrument that is as great as other more familiar solo instruments.
