Mozart’s wind serenades rank among his most joyful and melodious compositions and this fine performance by the young musicians of the European Union Chamber Orchestra under Santiago Mantas vividly conveys the exuberance and high spirits of the young composer. With its seven movements, the popular Serenade No. 10 "Gran partita" is one of his most extended chamber works. The programme also includes the first known recording of the Serenade No. 11 in its complete octet version, as Mozart intended.
