Digital Booklet
This second collaboration between Kent Nagano's Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal and Decca offers six works linked by the common theme of Halloween. Although not all composed specifically for the occasion of the holiday, the pieces exploit its spooky characteristics including death, witches, skeletons and demons. The album was recorded live at three Halloween concerts in October 2015 at Maison symphonique de Montréal. "This cyclical enthusiasm for the supernatural and the occult tends to pervade popular consciousness and artistic production no matter how advanced and rational the society. As such it is a theme that transcends nationality, culture and time. The great variety of works in this recording ... represents the OSM’s effort to offer a unique window onto a compelling historical period in classical music, but also a point of commonality connecting to the world we inhabit today." - Kent Nagano

What is High-Resolution Audio?

High-resolution audio offers the highest-fidelity available, far surpassing the sound quality of traditional CDs. When you listen to music on a CD or tracks purchased via consumer services such as iTunes, you are hearing a low-resolution version of what was actually recorded and mastered in the studio. ProStudioMasters offers the original studio masters — exactly as the artist, producers and sound engineers mastered them — for download, directly to you.

What do I need for playback?

You may need additional software / hardware to take full advantage of the higher 24-bit high-res audio formats, but any music lover that has heard 16-bit vs 24-bit will tell you it's worth it!
