This 2014 album highlights music associated with Farinelli, a celebrated 18th century castrato, one of the most well-known opera singers of all time and court musician to the kings of Spain. Spanish conductor Pablo Heras-Casado returns to his core repertoire and musical heritage as he leads the Concerto Köln and countertenor Bejun Mehta in vocal and instrumental Baroque repertoire. El Maestro Farinelli features eight world premiere recordings.
